The Employee Benefits (ERISA) Attorney will be responsible for counseling clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. This includes advising on qualified retirement plans, ERISA requirements, healthcare and welfare plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and stock option agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing qualified retirement plans, counseling on ERISA requirements, and handling employee benefits issues in corporate mergers and acquisitions. Duties:Counsel clients on employee benefits and executive compensation mattersAdvise on the design and implementation of qualified retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans, pension plans, profit-sharing plans, ESOPs, and defined benefit plansEnsure legal compliance of employee retirement plans with ERISA requirementsProvide guidance on employee benefits issues during corporate mergers and acquisitionsHandle due diligence issues, benefit plan liability exposure, and plan mergers or terminationsAddress administrative and operational issues associated with implementing employee retirement plans, healthcare and welfare plans, and executive compensation plans Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the bar in the relevant jurisdictionExperience counseling clients on employee benefits and executive compensation mattersFamiliarity with ERISA requirements and regulations Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutionsAttention to detail and organizational skillsExperience in corporate mergers and acquisitions is a plus This Indiana-based law firm serves a host of international, national, regional, and local business clients of varying sizes, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small and medium-sized businesses and corporations.
