Closing Date: April 23, 2024 Reporting to the Manager, Social Responsibility, the Lead, Indigenous & Community Relations (Contract) is responsible for building and maintaining positive, and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous leadership, representatives, and community members. The primary project focus will centre on the Bullmoose mine near Tumbler Ridge, B. C. This is a 9-month part-time contract role, with opportunity for extension. This role can be done remotely, with regular travel to the project area and surrounding communities. T o be successful, we are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, as well as proficiency in the intricacies and sensitivities involved in community engagement. The position requires a self-motivated collaborator who has strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills. In this role, you will have an opportunity to be the face of Teck, ensuring the stewardship of positive relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments, organizations and communities. You will also have the chance to collaborate with teams across our operations, contributing to the success of future projects. Responsibilities : Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Support operational and permitting teams to prepare for external engagement with Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments, organizations, and communities Enhance outreach with organizations, communities, and businesses working specifically (though not exclusively) on reclamation, biodiversity, and mine closure issues Support the implementation of collaborative working groups including communications and decisions reached between management forums and field levels Assist to develop business engagement and management strategies that further Teck’s environmental field results Contribute to social risk backssments and mitigation plans.
