The type of work the maintenance trades helper is expected to perform may vary from trade to trade. In some trades, the helper is expected to supplying, lifting, and holding materials and tools as well as cleaning areas and in others, the helper is expected to perform specialized machine operations. The Maintenance Trades Helper is also intermittently expected to perform parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. * Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades * Maintains tools and materials supply * Cleans work area, machines and/or equipment * Assists general maintenance workers by holding materials or tools or performing other tasks as directed by the General Maintenance Worker * Other duties as assignedQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES * No supervisory responsibilities.ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORSAs a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base.
