Description:
Cobb Technologies is seeking a skilled and reliable Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining account schedules performing account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the accounting team in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department. Position also will perform various tasks for the VP of Service on a daily and monthly basis. Duties include, but are not limited to: Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with Accounting Manager to ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the financial ledgers of the company. Perform various monthly account and bank reconciliations. Assist in the monthly and annual closing process. Investigate and resolve issues that arise during the closing and internal review processes. Export data from accounting system and prepare internal financial and benchmark reports. Update all internal reports (trailing twelve-month operating reports, budget to actual analysis, dashboard analysis, expense detail reports, and operating performance summaries) Assist in maintaining the internal financial reporting system. Create ad hoc reports as necessary. Assist with audits to ensure compliance with GAAP. Assist with Property Tax and Sales Tax filings. Special projects as assigned. Support for VP Service: Review service contract allowances and calculate pricing renewals. Maintain service burden rates. Perform periodic audits use of service fuel cards and vehicle usage. Support service fleet management (fuel cards, leases, and maintenance approvals) Cross trained Operational Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting / financing required, or 4 years equivalent experience may be substituted for education requirements. Attention to detail and accuracy; Planning and organizing; Communication skills; Problem analysis and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate excellent customer service, initiative and teamwork skills.
