Are you an experienced and well-organized Dining Server with a great personality and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service? If so, we'd like to hear from you! The Arbors Independent Living (part of the Virginia Health Services family) is hiring a full-time Dining Service Supervisor to lead, coordinate, and train our Team of Servers to ensure our Residents and guests consistently receive a high-quality dining experience.... or, in restaurant lingo, running front of house! Located in the Port Warwick section of Newport News, VA , The Arbors Independent Living is home to many active Seniors living their best life! Our Residents enjoy social events, activities, and many dining options. Responsibilities: Ensure our Team of Servers excel at providing a full-service dining experience to our Residents and guests. Actively manage Servers and Hostess for all dining/service areas, special events, activities and catered events. Monitor daily service needs and requirements. Monitor general cleanliness and sanitation of community dining, kitchen/dining service areas and Arbors Club. Ensure timely table turn over and floor cleanliness. Monitor/Report supplies and equipment inventory to ensure adequate levels for daily service. Coordinate dining coverage by creating and managing schedules for dining Team. Ensure coverage of all dining shifts for appropriate service to Residents and guests Assist with overall operation of facility as necessary to provide stellar customer service to our Residents, guests and coworkers Requirements: 2-3 years' experience in Food Service industry Unsurpassed customer service attitude Ability to coach, lead and motivate a Team Inventory and budget control knowledge of all aspects of food and beverage operations Basic computing skills for scheduling, tracking and reporting Food Handler Certification ServSafe Certificate required within 6 months of employment Ability to lift service trays and supplies as generally required for use in dining service Flexibility and the ability to quickly understand a situation and respond accordingly Why join Virginia Health Services?
